The 27-year-old has struggled for game time in Belgium thus far and despite his run of games towards the end of the season, only managed to make 11 league starts over the course of the campaign.
Jali has since been linked with a return to the Absa Premiership amid interest from the likes of Mamelodi Sundowns, however, Tountouris has suggested that his next move will see him remain in Europe.
He told voetbalnieuws.be. “He has had a difficult season and is underestimated and undervalued, however, Oostende took the option until mid-2018.
“Jali misses the game because he played little, but you see in the recent play-off matches that he has many qualities. We think it’s time to move on and we are working on a solution. Return to South Africa? Those rumours do not have to be believed because he is only 27 years old and has many great years ahead.”
The Bafana Bafana international was a regular over the last two seasons following his move from Orlando Pirates, but fell out of contention for lengthy spells during the 2016/17 season and will be eager to go in search of regular football elsewhere.
