Liameed Olawale Gafar, the CEO of 36 Lion, the nursery team that nurtured Imoh Ezekiel before his move to Standard Liege in 2012, has stated that the transfer of his ward to Al Arabi, Qatar is now in the bag.

Without revealing the financial terms and duration of the deal, Standard Liege announced on Thursday that they have reached an agreement with the seven-time Qatar Stars League champions regarding the signing of the one-cap Nigeria international.

''Imoh Ezekiel is traveling tomorrow to Qatar to join his new team, Al Arabi. He played in the Champions League on Wednesday and the fans gave him a standing ovation after the final whistle.

''The deal has been sealed; a four year contract has been agreed. He will be paid a descent salary but it's not up to the 2.5 million Euros that is being speculated,'' says Liameed Olawale Gafar to SL10.ng.

There were claims in the Belgian media few days back that the Qatari Federation are planning to offer Imoh Ezekiel citizenship to enable him represent the country at the 2022 World Cup.

''We don't know yet, it's too early to say. If he does well for Al Arabi and adapts just as he did at Standard Liege, then, he has a chance to play for Qatar.

''There's protocol involved in being a citizen of a country. I heard about the rumours but I won't say yes or no.

''I have a meeting with Al Arabi in the next three weeks to see if all they promised him have been done. He was promised a lot of things, and it includes taking him to Europe after a few years,'' Gafar added.

Imoh Ezekiel clocked up 91 appearances for Standard Liege in all competitions, scoring 32 times.
