Former Kogi United creative midfielder, Lasisi Saheed, popularly called "Omo Alhaja" has teamed up with another National League side, Gateway FC of Abeokuta for the 2014/2015 season.

Saheed who played Kogi United last season while on loan from Remo Stars was instrumental in Wada Boys' impressive campaign in the NNL.

He couldn't make his move permanent as both Kogi United and his parent club failed to agree on a deal.

Omo Alhaja who is known for his well tailored passes has now joined Gateway where he will team up with his former coach at Remo Stars, Bode Awakan.

But the joy of signing a good deal with a new club for Saheed did not last long with the news of his father's demise.

Pa Ishola Sabitu Lasisi, 72 died at the wee hours of Thursday after a brief illness in his house in Epe, Lagos State.

While announcing his father's death, Saheed said the news took him unaware as he was about calling him about his new club.

“It took me like a surprise that I've lot my dad, it's still a dream to me, my dad was so instrumental to my successful career because he was in the system, I wanted to wake up on Friday to call him about my movement to Gateway before Alhaja called me that he's dead, I will miss him so much because he was everything to me,” he told sl10.ng

He was until his demise the Editor-in-Chief for the Epe Newspaper and was one time FA Chairman Epe Division.

Alhaji Ishola Lasisi has since been buried according to Islamic injunction.
