Amajita’s Buccaneer Still Has Faith

Orlando Pirates defender, Tercious Malepe, says that he still has faith in Amajita, despite them losing their opening game at the U20 World Cup in South Korea.

The Buccaneer, who is also captain of South Africa’s U20s, played the full 90 minutes as they surrendered a one-goal lead to lose 2-1 to Japan at the weekend, putting them on the back foot as they go into their final two games of the group stage.

Malepe, 20, is expected to start once again when Thabo Senong’s side face Italy at 10 am tomorrow morning (SA time) and he is confident that they can get back to winning ways as they look to progress in the tournament.

He told the media, “We still believe in the dream… When the strikers score but you also concede it’s something else, I think defensively we have to go back and rectify our mistakes. Allowing the opposition to win the one on one situations did cost us, we have to go back to the drawing board so that we are ready for our next game against Italy.

“I believe in each and every player in the squad and I expect everyone need to give 100% so that we can achieve greatness.”

Amajita face Italy in Suwon tomorrow morning and know that the game is a must win encounter following their result in the first game.
