The Flying Eagles of Nigeria are confident they will defeat arch-rivals Black Satellites of Ghana and qualify for the final of the 2015 African Youth Championships currently going on in Senegal.

They have shown signs of being a side capable of beating anyone on their day but have also been exposed at the back many times.

Nigeria will play in their sixth consecutive semi-finals at the African Youth Championship after qualifying as Group A winners with seven points.

Central defender Abdulganiyu Saheed who had a good game in the team's two-all draw against Cote D'Ivoire is envisaging a tough clash against the Black Satellites at the Stade Léopold Sédar Senghor on Wednesday.

"I expect a very hard game," he said of the semi-final match-up.

"We know they are quick and strong, but we have the edge tactically. I'm sure it will be a great game and I think we can win it," Saheed told SL10 reporter Abayomi Ademetan.

The Ace Academy captain reckons the Flying Eagles just can't fail.

"We have come too far to let it slip now. Down to the last man we really want to win this trophy and feel we can beat Ghana."

Both countries played two friendly matches against each other before the competition – the first ending in a 2-2 draw – while Nigeria won the second 2-0.
