The Flying Eagles of Nigeria will have their hands full when they take on Brazil at the FIFA U20 World cup as Brazil coach, Alexander Gallo, has called up Manchester United playmaker Andreas Pereira and Real Madrid forward Jean Carlos.

Defending his decision to call up the duo, the coach also gave reasons why he dropped Fluminese 17-year-old midfielder Gerson and Corinthians wonder-kid Malcom and Santos 18 year talented forward Gabriel.

“We called up committed players who have experience representing their country and have their careers shaped,” explained Gallo.

“We need players who are fully focused on our targets after our experience at the South American Championship."

Pereira, highly rated within the corridors of Old Trafford, was voted the club U21 player of the year and only five days ago he signed a new three year deal prolonging his stay at the club till 2018.

He reportedly turned down PSG and Juventus to stay at Old Trafford where he made his first team debut in the capital one cup 4-0 loss to MK Dons.

Jean Carlos, on his part plays for Real Madrid Juvenile team as a right winger blessed with skills, tricks and pace aside from being a good header of the ball he also shoots well with both feet.

@Napoleon . Good posting. Nigeria should also watch for " diving" by South American teams. If they know you match them in skill, they resort to diving to get an unmerited penalty. Brazil and Argentina are cases in point. Manu should be " working" the refs from the sideline.

Yeah,no Nathan and Mosquito in their 26 man provisional squad, they were replaced with better and more experienced players. Average of 19.5yrs old. Boschilia is one of the few notable names from their old squad. NFF must do everything possible to get our foreign based players released on time. I think our team have an advantage against them even if they invite two more players from their senior team. Our team plays as unit, and our players are almost at the same level with the exception of Iheanacho and Yahaya and perhaps Success. The 4 new foreign players we're still expecting are not really new from the team except for Moses Simon who is more of an individual player than a team player. Player for player they r not better than this Flying Eagles, for team play Flying eagles have an edge, the only thing they have going for them is their name which will be ineffective against this current FE team because of their confidence and hunger for success, the best result this South Americans will get from us this time is a draw but I will be expecting a massacre from the flying eagles because is their opening game. However the only team going to this tournament we must be careful is the argentine team, they r very good from what I can observe.

Manu prepare these guys well. This game is like playing the finals in the first game. Be watchful of Brasil.

What? Gerson, Malcom and Gabriel dropped? Is this coach for real? I hope you drop Nathan, Kenedy and Mosquito so we can beat a hell out of you.

Iheanacho could save blues a packet from Manchester Evening News.-Kelechi Iheanacho could save Manchester City a bundle of cash this summer – and repair the hole in their 'holism'. The 18-year-old has had a frustrating season since joining the Blues, waiting for a work permit, and then getting injured five minutes into his first game in the youth ranks. After a couple of months on the sidelines, he is now back in action, and marked his full debut with a goal in the FA Youth Cup final second leg defeat at Chelsea, and then bagged another as a sub in the under-21s’ International Cup semi-final against Leicester. The Nigerian has looked the part in a sky blue shirt, ever since he turned out for the first team on their pre-season tour and scored against Sporting Kansas in a performance that caused manager Manuel Pellegrini to describe him as “a very important player for us in the future”. Kelechi Iheanacho scores against Chelsea in the Youth Cup Final City fans are yearning for a home-grown hero and, while Iheanacho is hardly that – having joined from the Taye Academy in his homeland just 18 months ago – he would light the path to the first team if he made the breakthrough. Other young Blues have been banging on the door this season – Angelino and Brandon Barker prominent among them – and on-loan youngsters Jason Denayer and Marcos Lopes are likely to get a chance to impress in the summer. But Iheanacho has instantly looked ready, both in terms of physicality and ability, and looks like a player who would thrive from playing with better, senior players. Pellegrini has tantalisingly hinted that some of the young players will be introduced to the first team squad soon and, apart from the obvious candidates of Denayer and Lopes – who have cut their teeth in senior football with Celtic and Lille respectively – Iheanacho is emerging as the youngster most likely to get a chance. Gallery of action from City EDS v Totteham VIEW GALLERY The Blues could be seeking two new strikers this summer, with Stevan Jovetic set to end his unhappy two years at the club, and Edin Dzeko available after a desperately poor season. If City could gather in decent fees for those two, and buy one striker, completing the complement of four from their youth ranks would be a great solution. Manchester City young guns must shoot down United twice for title glory Man City's Wilfried Bony could rip up Manuel Pellegrini's winning 4-5-1 blueprint Man City: Pellegrini hints Blues over-reliant on hotshot Aguero Not only is it good economics in an era of financial fair play, cutting the wage bill as well as balancing transfer spending, but it also encourages other young players and starts to justify the enormous expenditure on the academy over the last seven years. Of course, none of that is any good to Pellegrini, who stands or falls by such decisions – but Iheanacho is rapidly showing that he is ready to make the step.

I have a feeling the flying eagles are in for a rude awakening against Brazil. Other group games should be easier.

Its is going be a tough match, the chances are 50/50 it can go either way. South american teams are technical while African teams tends to be more of physical

Let them come. The bigger the talents, the harder they fall. I need this Brazilian team trashed just to send a warning.
