FC Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi has scored more goals with his supposedly weaker right foot than ever before in his career.

The Argentine, who scored the winner against Villarreal with his right foot, has now scored 12 of his 32 goals in all competitions the ‘right’ way.

This amount is already more than his personal best of 10 goals from the 2009/10 season, according to Barcelona's official website.

His right-footed goals came against Levante, Granada, Sevilla, APOEL (hattrick), Espanyol (brace), Paris Saint-Germain, Cordoba (brace) and Villarreal.

Ten of these 12 goals were scored in the second-half of the respective game, and eight came in front of Barcelona’s home crowd at the Camp Nou.

According barcastuff on Twitter, Messi is the only player in the top 5 European leagues this season, who has scored eight or more goals with the left and the right foot.

Overall, 61 of Messi’s 386 goals for the Catalan giants have come from his weaker foot, which calculates to 16 percent of his goals.

This season, however, this rate has jumped to 37 percent, which indicates Messi has worked hard to improve this aspect of his game.
