Raheem Lawal and his representative, Segun Ogunbayo withdrew from negotiations with Real Betis at the last moment and joined Turkish outfit Eskişehirspor.

And that was after the La Liga club inserted a five million euros release clause into the proposed deal, SL 10 has been specially informed by a top source.

It would be recalled that the Nigeria international had spent last week in Spain holding talks with the Real Betis hierarchy.

Assuming there were no twists and turns, the 23 -year-old midfielder would have signed a two -and -a -half year contract with the Green and Whites before the close of the winter transfer market.

On Monday afternoon, Raheem Lawal was finally unveiled by Eskişehirspor after several attempts by other Turkish teams to land his signature.

He penned a three -and -a -half -year contract with the Red Lightnings.
