Lobi Stars FC of Makurdi are sitting comfortably at the base of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) with six points after eight games and still searching for their first league win. Pundits have been left astonished but the club's management aren't moved by the poor form.

In a chat with SL10.ng, the team manager of Lobi Stars, Barnabas Imenger expressed confidence in his team, stating that there's no cause for alarm.

"We as a management are not worried because we have confidence in our boys of whom the majority are young and will develop as the season progresses," Imenger told SL10.ng.

"Secondly, these draws we have recorded will, in the long run, help us because one win will propel us to the top half of the table so there's no cause for alarm. We will certainly get over it," said Imenger.

The former Nigeria international also commented on the quality of officiating in the NPFL this season:

"Officiating has improved significantly in the NPFL this season though I doubt the competence of one or two referees but all in all officiating has improved significantly."
