Keshi: Pinnick Is a Liar!
Out-of-contract Super Eagles Coach Puts NFF Boss On Blast, Accuses Him Of Lying Over Contract Saga
Out-of-contract Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi has branded the President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Amaju Pinnick a liar, over what he describes as ‘lies’ over the purported contract supposedly offered to him by the Glass House.
Keshi, who has maintained a studied silence over the last couple of months, has now come out to slam Pinnick, saying the NFF President has been lying to Nigerians over the issue of offering him a new contract.
“Amaju (Pinnick) never told me anything and I don’t know what he is talking about. He and I have not spoken in over two months, so I don’t know what he’s talking about.
“I’ve kept quiet but it seems they want me to talk, so now I will start talking. I have to let Nigerians know what is going on so I have to start talking.
“How can Amaju (Pinnick) call himself the President of the Federation (NFF) and he is lying to Nigerians? Is that how he wants to govern Nigerian football? How? I don’t get it.
“They want me to talk, so I will start talking now. I think it is time to let everybody know what is going on in Nigerian football, so I will start talking now,” Keshi said in an interview with Hot FM.
The Nigeria Football Federation have severally claimed that they have offered fresh terms to Keshi, with Pinnick telling sl10.ng on Monday that Keshi would sign the contract on Wednesday (yesterday).
“We are hoping that by Wednesday we will have something for him but I hope he will be able to work under the conditions (clauses) that we have,” Pinnick said.
