Super Falcons Performance In Draw With Canada Delights Coach Edwin Okon
Super Falcons head coach, Edwin Okon, has expressed his delight with the way his team played in a goalless draw with Canada in their international friendly match at Downsview Park on Monday.
The seven-time African champions played decently against a team they defeated 1-0 at the 2011 FIFA World Cup.
“I’m delighted with the way they (Super Falcons) played especially in the opening exchanges. I hope we improve before the World Cup gets underway. We’re building a team capable of qualifying from a group that comprises of USA, Sweden and Australia,” Okon told SL10
Commenting further, the former Falconets coach also said he felt his team had created the better chances to have broken the deadlock.
"Although the match did end goalless one must praise the girls for playing to instructions. I think we need to work to correct the mistakes noticed in the game and hopefully we will get better," he added.
The Super Falcons started the match with confidence and fashioned out a number of scoring chances.
