Result: Gabros FC 1-0 Enugu Rangers

Date: 22 March 2015

Chibuzor Okonkwo grabbed the match winner as Gabros International FC edged Enugu Rangers 1-0 on Sunday evening.

Rangers had a fast start to the match as Etim Matthew turned his man on the edge of the box, but his strike went just wide off Eze Chidiebere's post in the 7th minute.

Gabros started to attack and the pressure told when Okonkwo thundered in a free kick with power into the back of the net.

Kelechi Emeteole's side could have hit back as Samuel Agba raided down the final third and managed to dig out a shot which Chidiebere struggled to deal with, but Razaq Adegbite's finish was poor as he failed to guide it on target from close range.

Gabros then threatened just before the break when Rangers failed to clear the danger from a cross into the box.

Okonkwo's free-kick made the difference as the first half ended 1-0 in Nnewi.

Gabros should have scored a second goal when Uche Onuoha pulled the trigger after an excellent surging run into the area.

Mid-way into the second half, penalty appeals from the hosts was ignored by the referee.

The lively Okonkwo was inches away from netting another free-kick for Gabros in the 70th minute. His well executed effort was inches off the post.

Fifteen minutes from time, Stephen Chukwudi rattled the cross bar with goalkeeper Itodo Akor in no man's land.

Matthew should have done better with a chance to level matters for the Flying Antelopes five minutes from time.

Gabros did well to hold on to the narrow win in front of their fans.
