Nigeria Under-20 international Wilfred Ndidi is set to resume tests at Kalmar, with a view to a transfer in the January transfer window.

The soon to be 18-year-old, as well as left fullback Adebayor both practiced with the Swedish Allsvenskan side over the summer, but a decision on their suitability for a contract was not made at that time.

Now, Wilfred Ndidi has a final opportunity to impress the coaching staff of Kalmar when he begins trials with them in the next one week, subject to a successful visa application.

“They will train with us for two months and we are counting on visa applications to go through, to have them in place in a week. Ndidi is a centre-back and Adebayor a left back,” Thomas Andersson

Borstam, Sporting Director of Kalmar, told Barometern.

Wilfred Ndidi earlier tried his luck with Belgian club Racing Genk, but nothing came out of it.

A product of grassroots team, Nath Boys of Lagos, he appeared three times for the Flying Eagles at the 2013 FIFA Under-20s, playing in matches against Cuba, Korea Republic and Uruguay.

Flying Eagles attacker Taiwo Awoniyi has reached an agreement in principle to sign professional terms with Kalmar when he clocks 18 next August.

I am afraid these players are payed are paid peanut for their great talent/potential. They have opportunity to showcase themselves in U20, and that should be their main priority and benchmark to securing a lucrative and respectful contract.
