Date: 05 February 2015

Venue: Estadio de Malabo

Ghana defeated Equatorial Guinea 3-0 to secure a spot in the final of the Africa Cup of Nations.

The first half proved to be a dull affair, as both sides were struggling to create any openings for large parts of the 45 minutes.

The game sprung into life in the 40th minute, as Jordan Ayew converted from the penalty spot, after Kwesi Appiah was brought down by Ovono.

The Black Stars doubled their lead minutes later courtesy of composed finish from Mubarak Wakaso, following a brilliant counter attack.

Dede Ayew should have increased Ghana's advantage 10 minutes after the halftime break the stand-in captain headed wide of goal from three-yards out.

It was proving to be one way traffic, as Felipe Ovono was called into action to thwart Appiah from close range in the 57th minute.

The win was sealed in the 74th minute, Appiah broke free once again but was pushed wide, however picked out Andre Ayew, who slotted into an empty.

Equatorial Guinea, meanwhile, failed to get anything in attack and failed to trouble Ghanaian goalkeeper, Razak Brimah.

There was a bit of drama in the closing stages, as the game had to halted for at least 20 minutes due to the home fans launching bottles onto the field.

Here's how they lined up:

Ghana: R Braimah; H Afful, J Boye, Jona Mensah, B Rahman; C Atsu, A Acquah, M Wakaso, A Ayew; J Ayew, K Appiah

Equatorial Guinea: Ovono, Evuy, Mbele, Da Gracia, Kike, Zarandona, Ellong, Ivan Edu, Balboa, Belima, Nsue
