Bucs To Make Squad Changes After Cup Final
Some Players Will Leave Orlando Pirates
Orlando Pirates are expected to make changes to the squad after the team’s Nedbank Cup final, which will take place in Durban.
The Buccaneers will be playing against defending champions SuperSport United in this year’s final at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on June 24.
While Bucs’ perennial rivals, Kaizer Chiefs, confirmed on Tuesday that Siyanda Xulu, Lucky Baloyi, Camaldine Abraw and Lewis Macha’s contracts will be terminated, with three other players having been deemed surplus to requirements in Naturena in the planning for the squad of next season, Pirates will make their final decision on players after the cup final.
“Pirates’ focus right now is on the preparations for the Nedbank Cup final. A decision on the players leaving the club will be made after the final,” said the source.
James Okwuosa, Sello Japhta and Donald Mokondelela are some of the players likely to be affected by squad changes to take place at the Soweto giants.
