Bucs Midfielder’s Future In Doubt
Orlando Pirates Likely To Part Ways With Midfielder
As reported in issue number 1027 of Soccer Laduma, Donald Mokondelela is facing an uncertain future with Orlando Pirates.
In his first season with Pirates, the midfielder was unsuccessful and was loaned out halfway through the 2016/17 campaign after he struggled for game time in the star-studded team.
Mokondela was signed by Pirates from Baroka FC, after the Limpopo team’s promotion-winning campaign of the 2015/16 season.
Following his lack of game time during the first half of the season, the 25-year-old was loaned to Chippa United in January. According to a source close to the Soweto giants, the Buccaneers are likely to not include the player in their planning for next season’s squad.
“Donald Mokondelela could be affected by the changes to take place at Orlando Pirates at the end of the season. He’s likely to be loaned again next season or be released – one of the two,” said the source.
Bucs’ squad changes are expected to take place after the team’s Nedbank Cup final against SuperSport United on June 24.
