Khune Still Missing At Chiefs
Itumeleng Khune Is Still Training Alone And Not At Kaizer Chiefs
Kaizer Chiefs’ number one goalkeeper, Itumeleng Khune, was still not training with the club as their next league game approaches next week.
Khune, 30, missed the Amakhosi’s last two games and was forced to withdraw from the Bafana Bafana setup due to a nasty chest infection last month, and it had been hoped that he would be back available going into the clash with Cape Town City.
However, while Khune could still return in time, he wasn’t in full training with the Glamour Boys on Wednesday, with the stand-in keeper coach, Brian Baloyi, seemingly preparing for the fact that it may be Brilliant Khuzwayo between the sticks again on Wednesday.
Chiefs do still have a few days to prepare for next week’s game, although at this point it remains to be seen whether Khune - who is currently training alone - will be fully fit by the time they jet out to the Mother City early next week.
The Siya crew will look to see if Khune’s situation has improved for Friday’s session at Naturena prior to the weekend.
