Cape Town City And Orlando Pirates In A Race To Sign Striker
Cape Town City and Orlando Pirates are currently in a race to land the signature of an experienced 30-year-old striker.
Victor Obinna, who plied his trade for the likes of Italian outfit, Inter Milan, Spanish-side, Malaga and English Premier League outfit, West Ham United, is currently on the radar of both City and Pirates according to Siya sources, as they look to bolster their attacking department for the 2017/18 campaign.
The Nigerian international is currently a free agent, with Siya sources indicating that both Premier Soccer League outfits have enquired about his services.
The striker, who was mentored by Jose Mourinho during his time at Inter Milan, was recently on the books of SV Darmstadt 98, a club in the second tier in Germany.
Sources have indicated that the Nigerian international is currently being heavily linked with a move to South Africa’s top-flight and as things stand, City and the Buccaneers are believed to be keen on luring the player to their club.
Pirates are yet to find a replacement for the departed Tendai Ndoro, while City, on the other hand, could use the cover in their attacking department following the transfer of Lebogang Manyama to Turkish outfit, Atiker Konyaspor.
Now, it remains to be seen which team will win the race for Obinna’s signature in the coming days.
