Ndlovu, 27, scored the goal against FC Copenhagen that secured a spot in the groups – a first for his club and for Azerbaijan as a country – and on Wednesday night it was the Bafana Bafana international that set up Pedro Henrique to score their first goal.
The game against Roma was the first UCL match at Qarabag’s Azersun Arena in Baku, although they still await visits from Chelsea and Atletico Madrid in the coming weeks as they look to improve their results in the competition.
With 10 goals in his last 20 games – and four assists – Ndlovu is in fine form as his side make history continentally and sit on top of the league at home, form that he will be hoping to continue as he prepares to return to the Bafana setup.
Qarabag face Zira this weekend as they look to remain in pole position in the league, with Ndlovu set to fly to South Africa shortly after following his call-up from Stuart Baxter.
