Bafana Striker With Historic Champions League Assist

Dino Ndlovu's Qarabag Ran Roma Close Last Night

By Joe Crann - Sep 28, 2017 05:02 PM @YesWeCrann
Dino Ndlovu continues to write his name into Qarabag’s history books this year after assisting in their first ever Champions League group stage goal last night.

Ndlovu, 27, scored the goal against FC Copenhagen that secured a spot in the groups – a first for his club and for Azerbaijan as a country – and on Wednesday night it was the Bafana Bafana international that set up Pedro Henrique to score their first goal.

The game against Roma was the first UCL match at Qarabag’s Azersun Arena in Baku, although they still await visits from Chelsea and Atletico Madrid in the coming weeks as they look to improve their results in the competition.

With 10 goals in his last 20 games – and four assists – Ndlovu is in fine form as his side make history continentally and sit on top of the league at home, form that he will be hoping to continue as he prepares to return to the Bafana setup.

Qarabag face Zira this weekend as they look to remain in pole position in the league, with Ndlovu set to fly to South Africa shortly after following his call-up from Stuart Baxter.

@ThatoMaphanga many good players will still fail in the PSL. IF Mbesuma for instance did not play with the best players this country once had, he was going to be just somebody. Yes some players do shine even at smaller teams in the PSL, but with Dino coaches in SA were not patient enaf with him. You will find out thst he never played more than 15 games with all the team's he represented in SA.

@Voltaire Because u don't know football. This is the first time his team has earned a spot in Champs league, and he scored the goal that secured that spot. His team is now in group stages of Champs league for the first time and he assisted their first goal ever in EUFA champs league group stages. That is history!

@ThatoMaphanga Rember this same guy played in Israel and did well. He played for two big teams in that country. In Cyprus he did well and at some point it was reported that the Turkish teams were after him, and he ended up moving to his current team. I strongly blv that he is better than most of SA born strikers.

@Maj We all loved Lucky Dube in his first 3 albums. Then he went abroad, changed his original reggae style, his attitude and accent changed. That's only when we rejected him.
