Makaab On Jali’s Future, Confirms SA Interest
Andile Jali Has Interest From Both Europe And South Africa
Mike Makaab has confirmed that Andile Jali could be on the move in the next transfer window, explaining that the player will decide his future.
Jali has had a tough season with KV Oostende as injuries somewhat hindered his progress in the Jupiler Pro League, however, has found himself back in the team of late as they pushed for next year’s UEFA Europa League.
It all ended on a high for Jali and Oostende as they beat Racing Genk on Wednesday evening, the midfielder grabbing the third goal in a 3-1 win, seeing them enter the continental competition for the first time in their history.
However, interest is being shown in him from both Europe and back home in the Absa Premiership. Mamelodi Sundowns are one team known to be keen on signing him.
Makaab says that the decision will be entirely with the player, who must decide now what he wants.
He told the Siya crew, “He’s done well in the last month or so and yes there is interest in him in Europe, but there’s also interest in him in South Africa.
“The most important thing is that we need to make a decision based on where Andile sees his long-term future. We’ll support him either way, a lot will depend on the financial package offered to him. I think we should have some finality in the next couple of weeks.”
Oostende enter the UEL at the third qualifying round alongside the likes of Everton, AC Milan, Marseille and May Mahlangu's Dinamo Bucharest.
