Reports: Manchester United Star Snubs Big Money China Move
A Manchester United star was reportedly offered a large sum of money to join a club in the Chinese Super League recently, a move he rejected.
According to the Daily Mirror, a team from the CSL approached Spain international Juan Mata's representatives in the past couple of weeks in a bid to lure the former Chelsea star to China.
The Spaniard, who is out of contract at the end of this season, has become a crucial member of Jose Mourinho's squad, despite many often speculating that he could be on the verge of being sold.
Mata, who is believed to be earning about £165 000 (R2.9 million) a week at United, has apparently sat down with his management team and told them he has no interest in leaving Old Trafford.
The 29-year-old has made 155 appearances for the Red Devils since making the switch from Chelsea in 2014, scoring 37 goals and assisting a further 26 strikes.
Fellow Spaniard Ander Herrera is also in the final year of his current contract but is another player who is said to be in line to get a new contract soon.
