Ijeoma Obi Dedicates Brace To Missing Girls
Bobruichanka striker, Ijeoma Obi, has dedicated the brace she scored in the 2-0 win over Niva-BelCard to the #BringBackOurGirls campaign currently going on in Nigeria and wished the girls were found in good health.
Ijeoma led her team to their second win in the Belarus Women Premier League on Wednesday by scoring two goals against Niva-BelCard.
The Nigerian international claimed in an interview with sl10.ng that the goals are for the missing girls in her home land.
She expressed optimism that the teenagers would all return back safely to their parents.
On her personal form after the barren spell in Sunday's 2-0 loss to arch-rivals Minsk, the free-scoring forward said:
''Every attacker likes to score in every game, but honestly I wanted to score today (Wednesday),'' Ijeoma, who has earned fivr League goals for Bobruichanka in three appearances, said.
The player says her job is to ensure goals are scored by her club.
“As a striker my primary job is to score goals and help my club in every competition and I think I’ve started doing that here for them,” she told sl10.ng.
“I’m always happy to find the back of the net and when my goals make big impact I’m happy. My goals are part of my job and when I don’t score I get worried for that.”
