Chiefs Make Brockie Enquiry, Sundowns Lead Race
Jeremy Brockie Was The Subject Of A Kaizer Chiefs Enquiry
Kaizer Chiefs have made an enquiry about Jeremy Brockie’s availability for next season, although are likely to be put off by SuperSport United’s price tag.
Having scored 38 domestic goals for Matsatsantsa a Pitori since January 2014 when he joined the club, Brockie is the deadliest striker in the country right now and has understandably attracted interest.
The Siya crew recently reported that Mamelodi Sundowns were keen to try and land the forward as Pitso Mosimane looks to beef up his team and they are the most likely club to sign him if he does make a move away from SuperSport.
However, as reported in today’s issue of Soccer Laduma, the crew have been informed that the Amakhosi did make an enquiry about his contractual situation, but were informed that he still has a contract until 2020 and would, therefore, demand a hefty transfer sum.
SuperSport turned down R12m for Brockie last year and it remains to be seen if they will be open to selling this time around if a similar offer is put on the table.
Siya sources have also revealed that the New Zealander has interest from the Middle East as well as South Africa and has not yet made up his mind about the future.
