Wits Target Tuks Man As Pelembe Replacement
Bidvest Wits Are Keeping An Eye On Innocent Nemukondeni
Bidvest Wits are planning for the future as they continue their pursuit of the Absa Premiership title, and have identified a potential long-term replacement for Elias Pelembe.
The Mozambican international has been a regular for the Clever Boys so far this season as they won the MTN8 and progressed into the CAF Confederation Cup play-off round, however, he will turn 33 later this year and is moving into the latter stages of his career.
With that in mind, Wits have actively started looking for a younger crop of players to come in as future first team players, and one such player is believed to be University of Pretoria’s Innocent Nemukondeni.
As reported in this week’s issue of Soccer Laduma, the 24-year-old is still thought to be on Wits’ wanted list for the future, with their interest now being peaked by the fact that he will be a free agent in less than six months’ time.
The Siya crew will continue to monitor the situation in the coming weeks to see if a move for the attacking midfielder materialises.
