PSL vs Europe: What’s Best For Jali?

PSL vs Europe: What’s Best For Andile Jali?

By Soccer Laduma - Mar 16, 2017 10:31 AM

As reported in this week’s edition of Soccer Laduma, another Premier Soccer League giant has joined the race for Andile Jali’s signature, but is returning to Mzansi the right move for the player?

The Bafana Bafana international left South Africa in January 2014, having won a double treble with Orlando Pirates, playing alongside the likes of retired footballers Benni McCarthy and Lucky Lekgwathi.

Jali experienced a riveting time in South Africa’s top flight before jetting off to Europe to join up with Belgium-outfit, KV Oostende.

The player was able to replicate his fine form abroad, however, after three years, slowly fell out of favour at the club, struggling for game-time.

As reported in this week’s edition of Soccer Laduma, Mamelodi Sundowns have joined Kaizer Chiefs in the pursuit to lure the 26-year-old back to Mzansi. However, a source has informed the Siya crew that should the player return to his home country, Pirates will be the first PSL-outfit that he would consider.

The Siya crew got in touch with a local footballing agent who spoke on condition of anonymity to hear his thoughts on whether or not coming back home is the right move for the player.

“First and foremost, the question will be, ‘What does Andile (Jali) want to do?’ There is no doubt, if he wants to return to SA, clubs will be queuing up for his signature, and he will be in a situation to negotiate a big money salary. Returning to the PSL will always be an option, but if he wants to further his career, he may opt to stay in Europe,” the agent said in this week’s edition of Soccer Laduma.

But, would European outfits be still keen on the player if he is not seeing much game-time at this point in his career?

“The fact that he has not been playing regularly means that it might be a challenge to place him in Europe. But he did prove himself in Belgium when he was playing, so he will have to regain that form. He may be forced to take a salary cut if he stays in Europe, though, with the intention of furthering his career,” he went on to say.

We all know football is business, players usually take the best offers n it won't b an exception even when Jali decides to come back. Pie rats will be his last option because they don't pay big salaries.

@Kgamali don't be stupid like your fellow Rats bloggers, Pirates never wanted to land Jali on loan only Chiefs made that attempt and now Ndunus will loan him via SL. Stop being a fool and become a fan.

Unfortunately Rats never wanted his services but Chiefs do. As for Ndunus they won't get him since they failed to land Manyisa it's the same story here.

if he could join us ...we will definitely win the treble next season ...but we should get rid of Steve Khompela first, because With him at the helm chiefs will never win a trophy.

I don't think Sundowns need Jali to be honest bcz that will mean the team don't care about the future there are the likes of Mohomi etc so we need to use those players and i want continueity in my team and young blood is key in a team and Sundowns is done to be the retirement destination
