Lamola: Winning The Nedbank Cup Would Be A Dream Come True
Lerato Lamola Sets Sights On Nedbank Cup Trophy
Golden Arrows striker, Lerato Lamola, has revealed his aspirations to win the Nedbank Cup, describing it as what would be a dream come true.
Arrows emerged victorious in their Round of 32 tie in the Nedbank Cup against Maritzburg United and when asked about the tie and fixtures against less-favoured opposition, Lamola said that the key to their win was not to underestimate the opposition.
“We played well against Maritzburg,” he told Soccer Laduma. “We made sure that we never underestimated them, because sometimes that happens and you saw it with Cape Town City.”
Lamola went on to explain how difficult it is to play against small, lesser known teams in the lower tiers because analysing opponents is not easy. He then added that he’s hoping to win this year’s tournament with Golden Arrows.
“You can’t underestimate these Vodacom League (ABC Motsepe) teams, and it’s very difficult with games like that because you can’t even analyse the opponent. But in games like that, you’ve got to make sure that you know your opponents as well as possible,” he continued. “And winning the Nedbank Cup would also be a dream come true, I’m not going to lie.”
