Chiefs Ease Masilela Fears
Kaizer Chiefs Say Tsepo Masilela Should Be Fine
Kaizer Chiefs defender, Tsepo Masilela, is expected back this weekend, allaying fears of the injury that he sustained while playing over the weekend.
It was reported by the Siya crew this week that Masilela, who had to be taken off against Chippa United, was a doubt for the clash with SuperSport United in the Nedbank Cup, along with his current back-up, Sibusiso Khumalo.
An injury to both left backs could’ve forced Steve Komphela to make a difficult decision ahead of his meeting with Stuart Baxter on Saturday, however, it appears that the 31-year-old should be available.
The club’s physiotherapist, Dave Milner, believes that the full back will be available against SuperSport, though admitted that he needs rest.
Milner told the club’s official website, “Tsepo has a thigh strain. He is expected to be fine in the coming days. He will require some rest to help him with recovery to full training.”
Meanwhile, Komphela said, “We are currently getting the bodies back into shape. We will work in steps to get the lads ready for the next match. It is not easy but, they look very good.”
Chiefs host SuperSport for a spot in the Nedbank Cup semifinals at FNB Stadium on Saturday at 18h00.
