“Pitso Or Barker Who's The Most Successful Coach” – Reader’s Voice

“Pitso Or Barker Who's The Most Successful Coach” – Reader’s Voice

By Jonnybee50 - Mar 01, 2017 05:17 AM

Clive Barker is often considered the most successful coach in the country, knowing that he once won the AFCON with Bafana Bafana back in 1996. That and several local trophies in the pre-PSL era made him the most decorated coach in South Africa.

However, recently, coach Pitso Mosimane is another South African to join Barker by winning a continental prize, the CAF Champions League title with Mamelodi Sundowns. Thereafter, he was named African coach of the year.

Now the question is who's the most successful coach between coach Clive Barker and Pitso Mosimane? Obviously both candidates have achieved different accolades continentally, which makes the question posed above even more difficult to answer.

Furthermore, both candidates aren't in the same generation, considering that Barker is in his 70s, while Mosimane still has a lot of time in the coaching industry, meaning he might still achieve more.

Between the two above mentioned coaches who's the most successful, choose one?

Pitso failed dismally on National level, even locally he rely on foreign players like Biliat, Castro, Laffor, and that Ugandan goalkeeper.... So this is an insult to Sir Clive

After 96 what did he achieve with any of his teams that he coached, without taking anything away from him he jst happened to be the coach at the rite time when we had the greatest players of this country that s the only reason he won that tournament. Any coach could have won with those players.

Unlike Pitso Barker only had to select South African born players and he went on to assemble a very strong National team but for Pitso motsepe got him everything he wanted so I think Barker has an upperhand on this one cos he neva achieved at national level
