Sundowns Race The Clock For Lebese & Manyisa
Mamelodi Sundowns Are Racing To Sign Players From Kaizer Chiefs & Orlando Pirates
Mamelodi Sundowns will be trying to push through moves for George Lebese and Oupa Manyisa before Friday’s deadline for CAF Champions League registrations.
It was confirmed last week that Manyisa will be on his way to Masandawana from Orlando Pirates, however at this stage a deal has not been concluded. Meanwhile, Kaizer Chiefs announced on Tuesday that they’re in talks with Sundowns about a move for Lebese.
Though the PSL’s transfer window still has around three weeks before it slams shut, CAF’s deadline for registering players for the knockout stages of the CCL will end on Friday, giving Sundowns’ management just two days to wrap up the deals.
Several players who were registered for CAF with Sundowns, such as Keagan Dolly, Wayne Sandilands and Teko Modise, have since left the club, and having registered 27 for the group stages, Pitso Mosimane has three new spots available to him.
One of those spots is set to go to new goalkeeper, Razak Brimah, and he will be hoping to fill the other two with Manyisa – a man with serious CAF experience – and the Lebese if a move can be finalised.
