Crystal Palace Midfielder Jason Akiotu Tips Keshi To Break Into First Team
Crystal Palace midfielder Jason Akiotu has tipped the highly-rated starlet Keshi Anderson, who was signed from non league side Barton Rovers in the January transfer window, to break into the first team within a few years.
The Anglo-Nigerian says the culture of the club allows talented youngsters to be promoted as long as they shine and impress for the development squad.
''Keshi Anderson is a great player and a great talent. Crystal Palace is a great club,'' Jason Akiotu told SL10.ng.
''The likes of Wilfried Zaha, Nathaniel Clyne and Victor Moses have come through the ranks.
''I haven't seen a lot of Keshi Anderson but he sounds like a good goalscorer. ''
The soon - to - be 17-year -old has maintained that he would honour the call - up, if invited to any of Nigeria's age grade teams despite skipping the Golden Eaglets screening exercise held last December.
''I couldn't make it to camp due to club commitments. I'm focused on playing club football and anything else is a bonus.
''It would be an honour to play for Nigeria or England. I would take both into consideration if invited.
''I model my game after David Alaba, he's a great player with good qualities.''
Jason Akiotu has spent the last six years at Crystal Palace since crossing over from AFC Wimbledon.
Primarily, he plays for the Under 18 squad of the Selhurst Park - outfit, but has made the 18 - man squad for the Under 21s on few occasions.
