Gauteng Province

15 /
South Africa should thank this province for confronting apartheid face on. Today we celebrate the Sharpville massacre and in June we celebrate the Soweto uprising.

Don't worry my homeland brothers, this GP province, small but rich. Most of records are based in Jozi. If Soweto is on fire, the whole country is shaken.

Celebrate is a word misplaced here. Rather try commemorate and check if the DELETE button in your gadget still works. That is the greatest justice you can do to yourself, if you may. Being ignorant is dangerous, very dangerous.

20 people died in Langa towship on this day. Many South Africans died in many different areas of this country. Many mothers sobbed as their husbands, sons and daughters left their homes in Limpopo,KwaZulu Natal,Transkei, Ciskei, Free State etc to join the fight against the oppression of a black main in SA. Now some shallow waste of sperm want to reduce all that to only a Gauteng province's doing. SMH!

Do u know why the PAC is insisting that this day should remain being called Sharpville/Langa day? Langa township isn't in Gauteng but is in Western Cape.

Let me educate u small poi. The struggle against white supremacy didn't start in Sharpville,it started even b4 the formation of the ANC. The were land wars between the dispossessed n the dispossesors. There was the popular Bambata rebellion of 1906 when the oppressed people defied the colonisers n refused to pay tax. Those happenings were not in the present day Gauteng Province. Do you know of the Potato boycott of the 40s, it started in Belfast (present day Mpumalanga). None of the Rivonia trialist were born in Gauteng. Biko was born in the Eastern Province n was caught at Cradock whilst doing political work there hours b4 his death was confirmed. The Poqo uprisings/operations after the banning of the liberation movements mainly happened in Eastern Cape n several Poqo operatives were caught n some were hanged.

Why Gauteng in particular. The last time I checked Sobukwe was the main instigator/leader who called people to defy the apartheid regime on this day in 1960. He iš from the Eastern Cape. No all people who participated in those 2 historic events were residents of Gauteng, why should it take all the credit? People of this country from various parts of this country were victims of the apartheid draconian laws n they resisted them. Some paid the ultimate price n were killed, others were maimed n some were incarcerated. We should pay homage to all of them n not Gauteng Province alone

The ANC of Jacob Zuma will never set foot at Sharpville again. Ppl of Sharpville rejected them few years back. Where are the celebrations gonna be held?
